Hi Everyone!!
We are well into our planning for the European season with our first stop at the Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma, Spain at the end of March and start of April. For the next 5 weeks my main focus is on improving my fitness as we think this is an area that I need to improve looking forward toward the trials qualification.
The Olympic Trails will be a combination of the Sail for Gold Regatta in Weymouth, England this coming June and the ISAF Combined World Championships in Perth, Australia in December. We will take our overall standing at the end of each event and the person with the lowest combined finishing positions goes to the 2012 Olympic Games!!
These events are the two most important events of the year and are what the top USA sailors are working towards. My main competition will come from Bryan Boyd, Luke Lawerence and Caleb Paine. Only one of us will qualify for the Olympics!!
One of the great things about the team is all of us are working together to make each other better so that whoever qualifies for the 2012 Games they will have the best chance of winning a medal for the USA!!
This year should be very exciting and we are looking forward to the challenge of making the 2012 Olympic Team!!
